Still, after several months, loving my SuperOcean 44. It is one of the few watches I've owned that still gives me pleasure to snap on my wrist. I've had various Rolex sport models over the years, & the one I have presently is the GMTIIc. I've had the Avenger Seawolf, grey dial on ProII bracelet, but just to big overall, the same with the SO44 chrono', but this...

just does it for me & my wrist. It's thick yes, but the relatively thin caseband gives the watch a wearability factor in spite of its overall size, (think Glycine Combat). It has lots of wrist presence, without looking stupidly large for my wrist size, and keeps great time, around plus 2 secs per day. Line this up with an Omega PO 45mm 8500 and I'd choose the SO all day long.

Completely agree with you.

I have said it here before and I reckon it’s worth saying again. Good Makers achieve a physical balance in their watch designs, which is often overlooked until you try one on. Larger watch designs that are comfortable, unobtrusive on the wrist and with a centre of balance that ensures easy wearing are not always easy to find.

Breitling seem to understand this and I think they make a conscious effort to tick all the balance boxes at an early stage. They have a wonderful heritage back catalogue to refer to as well. So it makes wearing one of their bigger watch designs a real joy.

:lingsrock:

Wear it in good health.

Very nice watch but if given the choice between the PO 8500 and the Breitling......I would take the PO in a heartbeat.

The PO 8500 is a nice watch - but I'd take the SO 44 with no hesitation (I don't know exactly how they compare technically; but I sure prefer the SO 44 minute and hour hands).

I feel exactly the same, had a Rolex Master GMT2 and numerous Omegas and a Panerai (amongst others) but my SO44 feels and looks amazing. I bought it on the bracelet but also bought the deployant and 2 Breitling rubbers. The blue is my favourite at the moment. I tried several Omega PO but they just looked bland to me!

Bingo! I really have an issue with the "arrow" style hands.
Precisely what has stopped me so far from getting a PO and the SOH for that matter.

I agree with you. I wore my Sub C Rolex non stop. Then I got a Superocean 44 in December and split the time evenly. I love both. Mine is on a rubber strap. Which I like because it makes for more casual wear.
