Post subject:  Breitling super avenger service question

I recently purchased a super avenger from eBay. I am not sure how old it is, I will however once I trade out my rubber strap and deployment clasp for the pro II I just purchased. I was wondering if anyone has used the horological services for a complete overhaul? They are a authorized breitling service center located in Philly, PA. We're they happy with the overhaul? How much was the cost? How long did it take?

If it is less than 4 yrs old which I hope it is do you think I should send it in anyway? The previous owner never had it serviced.

No need to service it if it runs fine.

Ive not heard anything about that service center, but if they are authorized, im sure theyll be fine. Other than that, you can send it directly to BUSA in Connecticut to be serviced. Cost is $560 for a complete overhaul, or $180 for a maintenance service.

To the best of my knowledge Mark Heist (Horological Services) is only authorised to work on vintage pieces. Very good quality work, but never heard of him doing work on contemporary pieces and waiting period will be much longer than 'normal' BUSA service.

The watch will tell you if it needs servicing with reduced power reserve and / or inability to consistently remain within COSC.

Thank you for the information. It is much appreciated as I am a proud new member of the breitling Family. I actually had a pretty good email conversation with someone over there about it. They told me around $560 as well. They actually told me 3-5 weeks turnaround. Which I didn't think was to long. But still longer then I would like to be without it. I told them it was a newer model and they didn't seem to have any qualms about servicing it. There was much talk on their website about vintage pieces as well as newer models. Maybe this has changed?

Since I am a novice to the Breitling world and still learning, what do you you mean by the inability to consistently remain within COSC? i just want to know what to look out for. The last thing I want to happen is for something to happen to the watch because of my ignorance.

Since I purchased it needless to say when I wear it my productivity at work is greatly reduced. Since I just stare at it.

I think my 2 u-boats feel neglected as well, maybe along with my wife and dog.

COSC specs are accuracy of -4 / +6 seconds per day. If the watch is maintaining that then there's likely no immediate need for a service.

I am pretty confident that it is not a fake and legit. But since I am on here now I took some photos. I have been to my AD and got a new rubber strap put on it and they didn't seem to question it. It did come with the box and manual but no COSC or warranty. But judging by the pictures please tell me it is real. ha. I also just purchased a Pro II braclet as well. Can anyone confirm for me. So I can rest easier.

Great looking watch - one of the best dial combos with the SA in my opinion

See. This is where the confusion started. Lmao. :) :)

Either way. I plan on enjoying my blue one for awhile. And purchasing a black dial next.
