Hey all,

So Im sure you guys have all had it, but my mind is currently ticking over trying to decide on my next watch. See the problem is now Ive got 3 watches of which two are lacking some real wrist-time, I now have to make the decision as to what next and potentially what to let go...

Im currently packing a B-2, a Headwind and an Avenger Skyland (the watch that gets all the wearing). The thing is, the whole reason I got into this Breitling caper was because I loved the look of the Navitimer but when I was ready to purchase I didnt think I could pull it off. Its definitely more of a classic look in my eyes. Anyway thats happened 3 times now :)

My other interest right now is the 24 hour dial Breitling's, and I have recently missed out on two Cosmonaute display-backs.....even being manual wind and all, they are a damn nice watch....smallish though...

So to summarise my ramblings, my perfect hybrid watch right now is a 24 hour 45mm navitimer.... which I dont think exists....any suggestions???

In reality, maybe a cosmonaute, but they are a bit small, LE chronomatic but doesnt have the navitimer look, or a normal navi, no 24 hours though....damn I dont know what to do....

Andrew

You've probably considered it already, but the Navi World comes in at 46mm. Not 24h but certainly has presence - it won't be overshadowed by your Skyland.

Hey Otto,

Nice to see a local around.. :) Yeh I had considered the World. Its probably the closest current model to what im looking for. Im not as keen on it with the black face, but all silver looks pretty decent....If this was 24 hour dial i'd be all over it :)

Andrew

You beat me to it! :) I was going to suggest that the only watch (apart from the 24hr Chronomatic) that approaches what andrewpc is looking for is the Le Mans.

BTW, I can't access eBay at work so how much is this one going for?

Thanks guys for the input......I dont have a huge wrist, so skyland size is probably about my limit...although the le mans is a very nice looking watch! Apart from that I dont have $8000(aus) dollars spare to wire transfer.....nice to dream though.....

Driver8 - BTW if you couldnt do the conversion from above its $US 6995 :)

Keep em coming.....

Thanks

Andrew

Hmmmm, 8000AUD is around 3750GBP at today's FX rate, plus approx 20% for import, means around £4500. That's a fair bit of cash........... but if it was a bronze dial one, I'd be tempted!

Maybe, but then you'ld have to out bid me

Although I'm biased, I don't think a Cosmo is too small. The DB Cosmos are amazing value at only around US$3,000 and I find that Navis seem like larger dials because with the slide rule the dial goes to the edge of the bezel.

I'll freely admit that I'm not one of those people who thinks that a watch has to be at least x mm - I have both large and small, but my cosmo doesn't look lost on my almost 8" wrists.

A 24 hour dial, with a DB, and a classic history for $3,000 - it's a no brainer for me.

Hey Roff,

Yeh Ive thought that it probably wouldnt be too bad in terms of size, but the harder part is finding one.... I was outbid on a blue one I really liked about a month ago, by 25 dollars, grrr.....and then missed a black one recently. If I could find a blue DB cosmonaute, then I think I would be satisfied.....for now :)

Our friend Aleister just got a nlue DB, do you think he was the one who out bid you?

They do come up occasionally, obviously not as common as the black ones, but if that's what you want then you won't be satisfied with anything else.

Of course you could also get something else while you are waiting

I just got a cosmo and it wears well. It supposedly is quite smaller than my CA but it has just as much presence. I think it's a great watch with a great story.

No, I hit the "buy-it-now" so I didn't out-bid anyone... :)

I really like mine, but as with everything - if the right offer comes... ;) (Not likely though...)

Yeh it wasn't aleister.....I was just the unlucky under-bidder..... They do come along every now and then, but to find the right one in good condition, and someone who'll ship to Oz can be a little more challenging. Im still a little unsure about going smaller than my current watches which are all 44+ mm.

At this stage a navi world is looking like the best current gen option, and most likely sell the Headwind, however Aleister if at some time you decide its time to shift the cosmo DB, please send me a PM first ;)

Andrew

The white faced navi world is an awesome watch. I doubt you will regret that purchase. Go for it!
