Post subject:  Back in the Breitling family again

After a few weeks of owning no decent watches (sold my Breitling and my Rolex) I came across this super Ocean at an estate store that I found on ebay but was local. I drove 50 miles and something was coming home with me, the economy be damned! Paid 1400.00, hope I got a good deal. I tend to be an impulse buyer so no time to really check out prices.

If anyone is interested they have a new Chronomat for 3800.00 as well, PM me and I'll give you the name of the place.

wonderful, I think this is about as big as I can get away with on my wrist. Anyone have pics of diamond bezels on this model? Probably a waste of time but would be interesting to see.
Glad to be back with the "in" crowd again, my wrist was feeling pretty damn naked for a while.

You have found yourself a great looking piece. I think the blue dial on the SO is my personal favorite. I have never seen a diamond bezel on this watch before, might be interesting? Great watch none the less! Welcome back and may the force be with you!

William,

You got a hell of a deal! I know what you mean about having a naked wrist --
it can be painful, indeed. And what better way to decorate a
wrist than to strap on a nice blue Steelfish! :) Even as I write this, my
white-dialed Fish is keeping my wrist warm and secure .

Enjoy, enjoy.

thanks all, it's good to be back. I will never again allow simple economics to cloud my judgement again. To think I actually believed I didn't really need a good timepiece on my wrist...

Again, William, welcome back to reality -- watch reality!
What do they know of horological excellence, they
who think of a watch as a mere device for telling time --
a disposable device at that!

In my own family circle, I am the freak, the weird one who
tries to educate others on the beauty of mechanical timepieces (it's
just not possible, I've found). "What sane person would pay that
much for a watch?" they ask. And always the obligatory, "What is it,
a Rolex?" (Sigh)

Anyway, enjoy your new timepiece, and never part with it (unless,
of course, you decide to trade up for something a little nicer?). :)

I am also the only watch guy in my family. My father has had the same Presidential for 20 years, my brother has a friggin fossil and he is a lawyer. Personally I believe if you are only going to wear one piece of jewelery make it a damn good one. Better yet have a few to choose from. The cost of enrollment is more than made up by the satisfaction of ownership.
At least with this forum I can see there are people who feel the same way as I do, it's good to know people of the same mind right?
By the way, as I am still a novice in the Breitling world, what is my watch classified as here in the forum, half Ling? I don't think I can ever be in the full Ling club, it would look like a paper weight on my wrist. Granted a damn nice looking weight but huge none the less.
