Post subject: | AD: Wouldnt let me try on watches |
Hey guys. I was wondering if its normal for Dealers to not allow customers to try on the watches they display. I was at an AD yesterday and they didnt let me try on any of the watches. They claimed it was 'company policy'. I mean, its not like I was in there in my yard work clothes.... Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks, -B |

Not at all. The very first time I was at my AD I literally tried on EVERY model of Breitling including a Flying B. She even swapped a Pro2 to a Diver Pro so I could see both on my wrist. You need a different AD. Scott |

Wow! They expect you to spend your hard earned money without even trying it on? I've never heard of this. I could understand if it was a $250k+ where 99.99% of the people asking to try it on could never afford to buy it and it would be a massive liability if it was damaged but on a mid-range watch? Insane. |

OMG, are you serious!? Not normal at all! What were you wearing? Maybe they judged the book by it's cover and decided you couldn't afford it... That dealer pretty much sucks! who was it??? |

Something tells me there's more to the story than this. I won't presume to speculate as to what, but something. More details? |

Sounds way weird.... Could you tell the full story? I'm not jumping to conclusions, but were you acting a certain way by chance? Even then, I'd usually take a 'customer' to a watch room where I can show the watch privately and securely, but not not at all. |

The only thing I can think of from your comment is: 1. the AD was recently robbed. 2. for some reason they don't see you as a 'buyer'. Still, it seems extremely odd. My AD was robbed, and they still let people try the watches on. That very same day! How else can they expect to sell watches? |

Sounds strange indeed... What immediately comes to mind, and very possibly "NOT" the case in this situation, is the following scenario... An individual that habitually uses an AD to check out the product and then buys elsewhere, for example, the internet. Not saying its not the smart thing to do, but a Breitling AD has to invest a substantial amount of $$$ in their product. Tire kickers can only kick so long before there's a flat... |

There has got to me more to the story. Once again, most decent AD's will have a watch room a saleperson can take you to show any watch. |

From my experience, limited as it might be, ADeez cannot wait to get a Breitling on your wrist. Once you put it on, there is no going back, they have you. I have gone into a many of AD and told them directly, "I am not ready to buy, just visiting my baby." They always abide because they know I will be back, money in hand. Get a new AD. |

Are you sure it wasn't a Panerai Dealer you are talking about here? ![]() ![]() All joking aside, I hope this does not discourage you from purchasing a Breitling watch. Find another dealer or someone else to work with, maybe even a phone call to management to let them know they lost your business. Good luck. ![]() |
