Actually a very nice looking dial, clean and legible. Sounds like a cool case back also.

Price shouldn't be too bad with the Cal. 41 ? Wonder what he midnight blue looks like.

A very nice watch but I don't think it was wise to pitch it as "first class femininity".
At 38mm I'm sure many lads with smaller wrists would have been quite happy with it especially if the lugs are long like on the 43mm version.
It could have been a nice unisex offering.

And now I remember, they already had the midnight blue in the just opened boutique in Hong Kong two weeks ago!!!

Agree completely. Not sure that "even the daintiest" wrists are going to be able to carry off a 38mm piece. Now I know that with a chrono there are limits to how small you can go, and Breitling has said that they will never sacrifice function to make a watch smaller, but we have male members here who bought the SOH 38, and of course the smaller Navis and Windriders from recent years and as a smaller male wrist would be ideally suited to it. Heck, it's larger than some of my watches and my wrists are closer to 8 inches than 7.

Also agree. After seeing the pic I totally disregarded the femininity thing, figured if 38mm works for you then this is a great looking piece.

I have a nearly 37mm Premier and a 38mm Colt Ocean (my very first Breitling) in my collection and I have no problems wearing either of them one day and my 44mm Chronomat the next.
Call them a "ladies' Chronograph" however and it immediately disappears off my radar.
Great idea, badly executed if you ask me.

I like it, but I would have preferred to see it 40mm or bigger but I guess I didn't expect it to marketed as a womens watch.

I agree. Labeling it as a ladies watch is a big mistake. Another indication how out of touch with the current market Breitling is. I guarantee that no self respecting guy is going to go into an AD and browse through the ladies section of the catalog for his next purchase. I can just hear it now when a potential buyer asks the AD sales person about the 38mm Transocean. "That's the ladies model" and you get shown the larger, more expensive, mans model :poke: At least they didn't offer them with the Mother-of-pearl dials. Diamond bezels are bad enough. That being said I do think the watch size of 38mm has a nitch for men that prefer the smaller case size. I have an 8" wrist but often wear 38mm or smaller for more formal occasions.

Yep and another one here agreeing that the "feminine" marketing slant is a bit of an error. One of my mates has a pretty small build and he reckons he feels that any watch over 40mm is too big for him. He regularly wears what Omega call "midsize" watches which are all around the 38/39mm mark........ but he certainly wouldn't buy a watch if it was specifically marketed as a feminine model.

This TO38 is a really nice looking piece though IMO, and not remotely feminine in design at all. If it was available in the bigger 43/44mm size and with the B01 movement inside it running as a twin register layout and the date at 6 like this new 38 (which would be very easy to do), Breitling would have another absolutely sure-fire winner IMO.

That's a really nice looking piece! And I wholeheartedly agree with the above; not sure that calling it 'feminine' was the best move for a watch of that size.

It's a shame because I think it's a nice looking watch in a good size, but I'd have a difficult time buying a watch that's "especially for women."

My wife probably wouldn't give it a second look.
