well, if you look at the design balance between dial size, logo size, subdials, date window: close, but no cigar. not really close, actually. but hey, I'm a vintage guy ......

I think it's the new Transocean Chronograph 38. You get your new Breitling's pretty quick...

Very well balanced dial. I like the 2 subdial chrono and date at 6.

I really like it.

Its the new Transocean Chronograph 38 Ref. No. R4131012/G758/724P

I have ordered it last week, expecting it to arrive in March or April, but it arrived within 3 days.

When You look at the Number, its no inhouse calibre, but the old ETA 2892-A2.

Is it the Transocean Chrono 38 because it's 38mm or is it bigger? Is there a SS model available as well?

Not a fan. Looks like someone did a cheap redial on a vintage 1190, or something close, from the 1950's. If it's 38mm that's also a mistake. I really like some of Montbrillant's but the 38mm size just doesn't work for me so have avoided them. A bunt rather than a home run imo.

funny, Paul. we vintage guys think of one of the 119x when we see that watch and are a bit disappointed, it is a nice watch, no doubt, but it just does - for me - not have the balance and elegance in design I would have hoped for.

Quick pics of a ref. 1193 from the early 1950s, maybe this might underline what I am talking about, though some will probably still see this as just another old, shabby watch.

Exactly. It just doesn't seem that difficult to use a modern case design, keep it at least 40mm, and stay true to the original design with minor updates in fonts, etc. If Breitling is going to do a retro piece then do it somewhat faithful to the originals. I hate to say it but I've seen more original ideas coming out of South America (fakes) than Switzerland.
