:D My gift to hubby for our ten-year anniversary in September. (If you saw any of my past posts, I specifically wanted an Aviastar because they were only made between 1996 and 1998, among other reasons.)

He is trying desperately to guess what it is (couldn't make a $2,000 purchase w/o him knowing!) So far he has guessed "Is it a Breitling watch?" but he has also guessed trampoline, jet ski, among other odd expensive items.

My next step is to get it appraised. Is it best to have this done at an authorized Breitling jeweler?

Also thanks for everyone's help. I am about 95% sure that the watch is genuine. I would have been totally lost without you Ling people!

Congrats on finding one finally! I've never gotten a watch appraised, so I'm not sure where you'd do that. I suppose the first step would be to talk to a Breitling dealer.
