New to the Forum and will be reading and learning as time permits. Excited to get my first Breitling tomorrow. The watch looks perfect in the HD pictures. Now for the first question. I was looking at the two dealers we have here in Indy and was warned NOT to buy new off the internet or used due to fake watches. I was close to purchasing from Jonashop. Is the loss of the factory warranty a big issue when they state they warranty the watch. It looks like the authorized repair facilities do not care where the watch was purchased. Awaiting your comments.

Even though the internet shops warranty the watch, they don't have access to Breitling parts. Breitling only allows authorized repair centers access to actual breitling parts. So if any parts gets changed under warranty by the non authorized dealer, Breitling may refuse to service the watch in the future or charge you to repair and replace all the work done by the non authorized dealer as well as charge for whatever you sent the watch in for in the first place. Search "gray market" here for lots of info on non-authorized sellers.

Breitling won't refuse to repair the watch if you send it directly to them, but you will just have to pay for any repair needed.

You can always post pictures in the replica identification section of this forum and the experts in fake identification here will let you know if it is real of not.

Hundreds and hundreds of topics on this, but bottom line is that the only warranty that has any value from grey market is replacement, and even that is dubious (your replacement is likely someone elses's return).

My take is this: if a place like Jomashop sells the watch you want for 20% off, it's not worth it because you can get the watch from the AD for 20% off and a factory warranty. Regardless of the warranty jomashop offers, i'd never want to send it to them for their warranty service cause they are not authorized service providers and may screw up your watch.

However, if you can get around 40% off list price from grey market resellers like joma, I would do it (and have), cause the money you save can buy you about 2 factory BUSA full services, and you then come out ahead.
