Yes, you read correctly. My AD gave me the new 2013 catalog last night and lo and behold, there is a limited edition Chronomat 01 Blacksteel.

I'm surprised it took this long.

They don't already make it?

I was hoping I would open this thread and it would say "JUST KIDDING! But they are making a 6AL4V LE Chronomat!". Yeah. Anyway..

Can't they find someone to make them a ceramic case instead of more black steel?????? Come on already when will the madness end.

Absolutely. Breitling has done a great job with the in-house movements, but why not a ceramic bezel?? Even Steinhart has those! A cermaic bezel, on say the Super Ocean line, would be a good start......

The in-house movement is such a feat...which always confuses me why they don't show it off more! Ceramic would be awesome...as would liquid metal, carbon fiber, high grade titanium, a stupidly hard steel, or something else that would be different and more robust than 316. A ceramic bezel and grade 5 ti case would be not only cool but damned near impossible to harm finish-wise.

Pics don't work for me.

I've cribbed the pertinent bits out of your links here -

Looks OK for what it is I guess, but if it'd been ceramic (and with a different bezel  ) we'd all be picking ourselves up off the floor in awe!

This looks very much like the Chronomat Flying Fish.

This is a satin-finish steel cased watch, model number 720 in Chronolog 2013 book, brochure makes it look darker than it actually is

Looks like a Blacksteel flying fish. I kinda like it but if it was ceramic then as driver says my jaw would be on the floor.

As mentioned, that doesn't look blacksteel to me, and it would be amazing if the first that we heard of a model was in the chronolog which is almost out of date by the time that it is published.

So it's not a Blacksteel flying fish. It's just the standard flying fish?
