Following on from the Breitling straps are amazing thread i find them a bit of a bugger to break in they are so well made i end up breaking the pin buckle in one notch at a time (the watch sits high on the wrist) till it fits after about 4 weeks, then going tighter so it fits just right on the buckle. The deployments sit in a rather odd way on the wrist until they soften and i find i adjust it everyday. I have a new 24mm leather for my Navitimer World and i am waiting till i have the patience to fit it and begin the wrestling.

:lingsrock:

what do you find the best way to break in a new strap.

I've taken a preference to shark because it really doesn't have that stiff break-in as it is butter-soft from the start...IMO it is the most comfortable of all the materials. Other straps I literally put on a Citizen with the same size as my BB and strap it to a mock-up of my wrist made from the foam that the 'Lings come back from the factory in after service and break it in like that over a few days.

Personally I'm not a fan or artificially breaking straps in. Bearing in mind that "breaking in" is essentially wear and tear, so I have no desire to speed that up given the cost!

In all seriousness I always found the best way is to just wear them, and put up with a little awkwardness to start off with. Ultimately a strap broken in on the wrist will mold itself to your wrist's shape very nicely in a couple of weeks.

Thanks i guess i will have to grin a bare it,

I have just become the owner of the Navitime world Black with silver hands on Navi bracelet, i used to own the Detora triple date on chocolate dial but my eyes let me down and the dial blended into one, it's pre owned just back from a breitling overhaul and it's like brand new, the deal also came with a brand new brown breitling strap on pin buckle, the AD supplied to sets of pins one he call stubby for the bracelet and pin head for the leather, i did not know there where different pins for the straps/bracelets.
