Hello fellow Breitling enthusiasts. I've been debating what to get for my next time piece. I have about $5k to play with.

Originally I was thinking a pre-owned Bentley 6.75, but I have had one in the past and am unsure it will do the trick.

I was also thinking of upping my budget and going with a Rolex DSSD, but would rather stay around the $5k range.

I haven't been following the current trends and haven't researched any new models for over a year. I've been out of the watch game for some time and thought I'd ask for some advise and maybe some other options I may not know of. As of now $5k is my max, all in. I may be able to squeeze up to $5.5k.

Thanks for your time,

Rocky

My favorite advice is a field trip to an AD, wear test several
& proceed from there. The only wrong/bad decision you can
make is getting one, then realizing you wanted another instead.

Very true! The problem is most AD's don't have a huge selection so I may be mislead. I think I will stop by an AD and get a catalog.

Just go to Breitling's website for the internet catalog. Print out
your favorites, then call AD's ensuring they have your choices
before starting the safari.

How about an Omega PO XL? Judging from your tastes it seems you like big watches. 45.5mm, in-house movement. Not a lot to dismiss that one. It's on my short list for next year too.

The Omega is a great option, but I think I would get bored if it. Although I am in love with the Planet Ocean Chronograph Caliber 9300.

5k is a good budget for a lot of fantastic watches. I do like the 9300 PO Chrono a lot. The movement is fantastic looking. I have also seen a nice Breitling Chronomat Flying Fish with the bracelet. Fantastic watch I think. Good luck anyway!

Cheers,

Marco

For 5K you should be able to pick up a used Navi 01, Chronomat 01 or the Transocean Chrono 01, all of them with the inhouse movement.
My recommendation would be one of them depending on your style preference.
With a bit of luck and patience you will find one that was sold after Jan 1 2012 with a 5 year warranty meaning that you would still have at least 4 years left.
Can't go wrong.

It sounds like you get bored with watches easily. If so, I would get the Navitimer. You'll get an analog computer to play with so you'll have a lot more going on there than with most watches. For 5 grand, you can also get the pre-owned 44mm LE Chronomat from an AD. It has the clear back casing to show Breitling B01's in-house. The Chronomat has quite a few features but the Navitimer is really the one with all sorts of things to keep you busy IMO.

My local Ben Bridge jelewlers has both Breitlings and Rolex so I could compair side by side... though not in the exact configs I liked. I must say that if you put them both side by side the choice would be obvious :lingsrock: .

The Breitling catalogue is very dangerous to the wallet! What an awesome and stunning book for your collection.

For $5k to $5.5k you can get a pristine pre-owned Rolex Submariner 16610.

Just a suggestion.

Cheers!
