Can anyone help?
Purchased a Montbrillant Breitling in 2009. Stopped working July 13, 2010. Went to Burdeen's jewelry in Buffalo Grove, IL. They supposed sent to Breitling and charged $100 for shipping. Rec'd back July 29, 2010.
After this incident I left this watch in a winder most the time. Wanted to wear October 2012 and noticed immediately it was not working again.
Took watch back to Burdeen's again asking for help. Today rec'd a call that the watch was out of warranty - even the repair was out of warranty. Their solution was to send to their jeweler, (not Breitling). For $600.00.
I have various other watches, (Rolex, TAG, Ernst Benz and others), and have never experienced this kind of quality issues. Did I purchase a "lemon" or is this typical Breitling?

Certainly not typical. Did they give you any details on what was wrong? I also wouldn't agree to a non Breitling approved repair!

I thought that was strange too. The first time the watch supposed went back to Breitling I never received a work order of what they did. This time Burdeen's only agreed it was not working and a refurbish is $600.
My disappointment is for $5,000 plus, this is not the kind of service I would expect from my Rolex dealer or other watch jewelry stores. My try to contact Breitling USA for their assistance was unsuccessful. Disappointing.
Not sure what to do next? Go to my Rolex dealer for help or continue complaining on the web?

I would try to contact BUSA again, apart from anything else they are the ones authorised to do the repair, and they are usually fairly communicative as others here will testify.

Sorry for late response. Had an unexpected business Japan trip.
Regarding the BUSA, how or where do I find an address to communicate with? I have looked on a couple web sites and did not see an obvious contact. Do you know a link? Appreciate your help.

I received a work order from Breitling and called to confirm my watch was actually at Breitling for repair. They confirmed it. Burdeen's has done their job. It seems that this watch is a Breitling lemon. Maybe case worn?
In any case, I still have a 5K watch that has stopped twice and Breitling has not acknowledged back they can help!
my call to Breitling USA resulted in someone telling me to send for an "evaluation" however, no consideration to help with refurb price.
any advise?

Send it for an evaluation. They aren't going to offer anything until they inspect the watch.

Rec'd a call from Burdeen's. They offered to take the watch in trade. Went to Burdeen's and found a Black Bird - number 23 of 2000 and purchased. I am happy again because of Burdeen's support. Thanks Brandon! Merry Christmas to all.

This watch may have qualified under Lemon Laws as unfixable,
& required replacement. Burdeen's deserves high praise for not
leaving you high & dry.
