Hi all, just joined the forum so hope i am doing this post correct. I have noticed some minor hairline scractes on the clasp of my bracelet, which tend to annoy me as i know they are there. I have heard about cape cod cloths? and heard they are good at restoring that polished finish? I have managed to order some off the internet and should be coming within the next few days, is this product the best one to use? and will it take these very light scratches out? Thankyou ![]() |

Is your bracelet polished or brushed? If it is brushed, Cape Cod will change the finish on it. If it is polished, as others have said, Cape Cod is great. If the scratches are super deep, you may need a heavier cut compound but for the majority of scratches, a little patience and you will have it looking great. When you are finished rubbing it harder to get the main scratches out, then finish with a small piece of unused Cape Cod cloth (i.e. it will still be pink where as what you have been rubbing with will be gray). This is because the metal you remove can leave microscratches. Finishing with a completely clean Cape Cod and then buffing the residue with a clean microfiber towel for the final finish will ensure there is absolutely no microscratches on it. |
