Shame. Such a classic. I still think they look better than the newer B01 version. |

Well it's seen some mileage so I'm not too disappointed to see it go and I was completely bored with mine! Now loosing the Blackbird I think is a bigger shame ![]() In fact the whole demise of the rider tab bezel is a shame, but I guess they have to try and keep the brand fresh |

Sometimes there is too much tweaking & tinkering, resulting in completely radical results, tending to alienate an otherwise loyal & enthusiastic fanbase. |

Does anyone own a machining shop? Making aftermarket rider tabs wouldn't be that difficult, and the bezel on the non-rider tab models still has the screw in that position, which would theoretically allow it. I had a guy make a clear case-back for me (for a Seiko diver...I wouldn't advocate doing this for a 'Ling based on what I have read here)...if that can be done, I don't see why this very small cosmetic addition can't be. |

What would be awesome is if Breiling produced a Chronomat B01, except with a traditional bezel (without the bank cheque font) and with rider tabs. They wouldn't even have to put full rider tabs...just carve the 15, 30, 45 numbers there on the tab instead of making it blank and get rid of the tab portion that rides over the crystal so that it's no longer a sweater puller. Call it the Chronomat Heritage, and see how that sells against the current B01. ![]() |

I doubt that Breitling will create two versions with the different bezels for the simple reason that they will be afraid of what the sales numbers will tell them!! |

Haha. Yes!...but it would be nice to find out, and I'd be much more interested in getting a B01 Chronomat too! |

The 2012 Chronomat Blackbird has sort of small rider tabs that bridge the Blackbird and Chronomat 44. If nothing else, an option for a bezel with smaller numbers and/or rider tabs in the My Breitling Made to Measure would be a nice addition. |

Dreaming is nice and I do it myself (no one more lamented the style changes than me), the beloved rider tabs are history. As far as Breitling is concerned, those "things" on the the Chronomats and Galactics are Breitling's style nod to rider tabs. Not sure what happens with the SA, Avenger, and Seawolf but bets are bezel changes are in the works. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
