When Considering the Navitimer 01 for purchase I have come across the Navitimer 1461. These are the good and bad things that come to mind with no specific order:

*Nice that has a Complete Calendar set with no adjustment for 1461 days (have a winder, no problem) plus a Moon Complication.
*No in house movement instead you get the 2892-A2 with the usual 42 hr power reserve
*I like better the size than the smaller Navi 01
*Navi 01 has 70 hrs power reserve with in house movement
*1461 has a limited editon of 1000 pieces but it has several incarnations I think
*Navi 01 has a new limited edition "blue sky"
*Not considering the Navi World, have too many GMt's already
*Maintenance is porbably more expensive than the Navi 01 and more prone to failure
*Navi 01 is cheaper than the 1461
*Both have that nice iconic look
*I dont see myself using the Chrono very often though
*Maybe is better to get the Navi Bracelet instead of the leather one that looks kind of cheap.
*1461 looks difficult to set or operate, you will need that manual handy

Too many ideas, need some guidance
thanks

I think the answer to which watch to buy is in your list of dot points. I would go with whatever one suits you best.

I think you are probably right. Is just that I like the 4 year calendar and the b01 movement. I guess I can't have both in one watch
Now on that note, the two things i like about the b01 movement is accuracy and the 70hr power reserve, if i take out the 70 hr PR factor; is the b01 accuracy significantly better than the b19? :?
And if I take away the personal preference factor, and ask more from a collection point of view "Is the 1461 as iconic as the Navi01?" :?
thanks

Both pieces are COSC - accuracy is going to be comaprable. You shouldn't view either as particularly collectable - they'll both drop value at an equaivalent rate - try them on and buy the one that speaks to you the most.

Another factor that you need to consider is size.
The Navi 01 is 43mm and the 1461 is 46mm.
Get yourself to an AD and try them both on your wrist if you have not done so yet.
A bit of a wild idea but another option to consider is to get a new Navi 01 with a 5 year warranty and use the saving towards a used Olympus or Montbrillant 1461 Jours.
Best of both worlds ;-)

Nice! but at this point i am just considering one Navi, I have already 21 watches. Actually if anything I am gonna sell my SOH 46. The one that I just came across while browsing that got my attention is the Navi Cosmonaute 50th Anniversary edition. Very Nice :lingsrock:

the more i think about it, i think i like better the 1461. I just needed to remove the idea from my brain that the Navi01 is the only choice for a Navitimer. Ok that looks good in paper, now i will take a look in the flesh, to confirm it. Planning to go tomorrow or Wednesday to the AD. Would be nice If I have a new watch on my wrist for thanksgiving day!

I think you'll find the B01 is more expensive to service, I'd go for the 1461, just wish they had a few more dial colour options.

Awesome watch! Congrats and thanks for sharing the pictures. Really couldn't go wrong with either watch.
