Post subject:  Limited Editions - is there list of models and number made?

My Breitling "keeper" is a limited edition Pluton Team 60 Swedish Airforce.
Numbered 428/1000 that I bought in the duty free at Geneva airport in 1996.

I've had other Breitlings since but always sold or traded them. But this one I will always keep. It was my first Breitling and hold a place closr to my heart.

Is there a list anywhere of all the Breitling editions and how many of each was made?

alex.

Not that I know of..... although there's a fair bit of knowledge on here, so maybe it's something that we as a group could look to pull together? Just an idea....

This has come up a couple of times before and the short answer is - no.

The problem is that there are actually a huge number of LEs and SEs because of all the variations with different logos, the country and region specific versions, the extremely limited editions of 10 or less that are never announced, etc.

Without the official help of Breitling I think it would be impossible to put anything close to a definitive list together.

True, but then I personally don't class all the multitude of Aerospace and Airwolf models with different logos on the dial as true LE's. But then I guess we start to get into semantics about what constitutes an LE and what doesn't......

Still, if anyone wants to start a list (and before anyone asks, no I'm not going to step up to the plate!) I'm sure some of us could contribute.

I was more interested in limited edition models. ie, ones with number information engraved onto the the back of the watch.

Yes, but a number of the ones that are regular watches with just a logo have numbers on the back.

The regular 6.75 with 5 diamonds on the back that Alien posted about have numbers on the back

They are LEs, they're just not really special versions of the watch itself.

As a counterpoint, watches that are considered LEs really aren't - the 50th Anniversary Navitimer isn't a LE as it wasn't produced in a set number - it was produced for just one year - it has the number engraved on the back, but it's not of XXXX. Same goes for the DB Lemania Cosmo.

Do you see how quickly it gets complicated?

It's still an impossible task - there are literally hundreds of Chronomats alone that are simply logo versions but are xx/xxx

I'd say that's a start then! :D Nice going Roff!

Maybe Admin could do something with putting on the main site (i.e. out of the forum) as a reference link or something?
