Hi,

I need some help to restore a Breitling Avenger Seawolf to its original state. The previous owner, or someone before him polished the titanium and it looks horrible.

Can you please let me know if any parts of the watch are supposed to be polished mirror?

Is the complete watch supposed to be brushed finish? How about the back or the crown?

Thanks for your help. All pictures on the web indicate a complete brush but wanted to make sure.

Thanks

:lingsrock:

On the new stainless steel version, there are polished surfaces, but there are none on the titanium version.

Nothing but the caseback should be polished. Also, just a shot in the dark, but is that Pro II bracelet really Ti or is it a polished SS bracelet? I'm wondering whether someone cobbled together a Ti case with a polished SS Pro II. Whatever it is, the finish is not correct.

It is Ti both the case and bracelet. You can see it from how light it is. Seawolf model is E17370 and bracelet is Ti 133E.

Can you confirm once more. Whole watch should be brushed except the caseback?

I have finished the bracelet. Took me 30 minutes. All brushed now. Looks better already. I started the case but masked the crown and left it polished. I'll probably do that brushed also tomorrow. I also removed the AR coating and it's much better without. I'll post some more pics when done completelly. For now, here is where i'm at...

Is there a Ti version for Seawolf model ? I assumed all were Ti. That was the main point for the massive Seawolf and the super depth rating to have Ti to make it lighter.

Thank you. So my model does not have any part polished other than the caseback.

I will brush the crown as well. Would it look OK to have the crown polished? I have see some models like that and were not so bad. What do you think?

You are welcome.
Your model didn't have anything polished when new (not even caseback), like this... viewtopic.php?f=3&t=42875&hilit=seawolf
I wouldn't polish the crown, but it's up to you...

Ok. I agree it looks better all brushed. Have to get one of those pens for the crown. Thank you.

Yes. It looks just like that picture on your link. I just finished polishing the caseback as per previous post...

I'll re-brush it back later on when I get the pen for the crown.

BTW, the watch is very light and confortable to wear. I like it.... 8)

What did you brush with? Fiberglass scratch pen? A block? It looks good. :lingsrock:

I got a kit on ebay, called watch band renewal, or something like that. I did it with the 30 micron paper. super easy. The AR was removed with cape cod. that took 30 minutes but worth it. :o

It looks good! A Cape Cod is a pain to remove the AR. I feel for you! Metal Glo removes it in under a minute and supposedly PolyWatch is pretty fast as well.

Good tip. Thanks. All I had handy was Cape Cod and it had lots of AR scratches that looked really bad. Made the watch look used. Crystal looks amazing now.
