I wonder if anybody knows what the date on a sticker of a new quartz Breitling means. It usually says something like:

http://www.chrono24.com/en/breitling/co ... 4&tab=pics

The watch was made in 2012. According to the manual, the battery life is normally 2-3 years. If the date on the sticker means battery life, it would mean that the battery life is only 1 year. How is this possible? Could the date mean something else then?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Yes, and this is not a one-time occurrence, that's just an example.

Example 2

what the sticker means is that if the dealer hasnt sold the watch before that date, the battery needs to be changed before it can be sold retail, so taht the customer gets at least 2 years out of the battery.

think of it as a "best before use on xxxx" sticker.
