I know he bought a Crosswind from a AD near me around 10 years ago, so he's got a little bit of taste i suppose.

Why is that a big deal? He is the husband of a spice girl, right? So now people married to celebs are signing on to brietling? They must be getting desperate.

I don't have a problem with David Beckham as a bloke, and was a pretty good footie player in his day, but as a Breitling ambassador? That's really playing on the bling/fashion statement angle, rather than "Instruments For Professionals".

Personally I thought Jonny T was/is a great choice - the guy's instantly recognisable as a mega movie star, but he's also probably the world's biggest aviation nut, outside of professional pilots. Herbert Nitsch was also an inspired choice - pilot AND freediver. If Mr Beckham is a new ambassador, it really does seem like Breitling have taken a leaf out of Omega's "eclectic ambassador choice" book.

I don't particularly like John Travolta but I find it quite "logical" to have him as Breitling ambassador due to his connection to the aviation. The same with Herbert Nitsch (except I like him much more than JT). But David Beckham?! I'd rather have Simon Amman as ambassador. He's currently taking flight lessons and I have seen pictures of him in a swiss magazine wearing a Breitling Jacket and a Breitling watch.

I'd say it is aimed at Asia where football is a lot bigger than wanting to be a pilot.
The campaign is aimed at the TO Unitime and Chronomat 44 GMT.
In a way probably makes sense.
