Post subject:  Skyland Avenger Blacksteel Availability

Hi
The more I see this work of art, the more I want one. Easier said than done. Would anybody know of any AD who has one in stock?

Thanks in advance

As per my PM, the one I knew of is no longer available. I know there was one in Portsmouth, England a couple of months ago - Driver8 mentioned that, but expect that it's sold now.

There are some coming up on the secondary market every now and then.

Many thanks for your prompt PM but I am very reluctant to buy this watch on the grey market.

If you'd settle for the Blacksteel Super Avenger, the one my AD is getting is not reserved yet.

Let's hope when you do get one it doesn't do this:-

Mine let water in whilst on holiday in the Caribbean and then completely misted up, it's now on its way back to Breitling to be sorted under warranty.

Ouch! what do you think the issue was? I'm guessing something to do with the crown?

To be honest I'm not totally sure, it was worn in a swimming pool at no more than arms depth for about 20 minutes. Crown was screwed in and the buttons weren't activated. I think it may have been an issue with one of the seals.

I know that the Super Avenger Blacksteel is very similar the Skyland, just not as many markings on the bezel but can anyone tell me if they are the same size?

Many Thanks

The Blacksteel SA will not be the same size as the Blacksteel Skyland : it will be the same size as the standard SA. In other words it will be 48.4mm as opposed to the 45mm of the AS.

Oh, that hurts. I really hope you get it sorted with the warranty.

Well by Black Steel is back from the AD and I'm not a happy bunny at all!!

There is still a mark on the minute subdial between the 4 and 5 minute points, there is a slight smear on the inside edge of the glass at the 6 o'clock position and over all I feel the glass isn't quite as clear as it used to be!

I agree. It should be as it was the day you bought it.

OK, the AD is more than happy for me to exchange my watch for another, he can't get another Skyland Black Steel, so the question is, my personal choice:-

Super Avenger Black Steel or Montbrillant Legend?

As you probably fell for the Blacksteel in the first place (and then overrode my own hesitations below), I'd say the SA Blacksteel.

But for my own opinion I'd go with the Legende. It's a gorgeous watch... ;) Also, I'd be a bit too worried on scratching the DLC on the Blacksteel plus that you can't get it on a bracelet.
