I would like to know what is the mosted trusted websites for Breitlings. Which is considered an Authorized Dealer? It would be horrid to be scamed out of $$ based on fake or used watches once they arrive. Thanks, Mike |

Thanks, Mike Well first off, none of the online sellers are ADs - they are all grey market. They obtain their watches from ADs and then sell on to the consumer, usually without the benefit of the Breitling warranty (they provide their own warranty). I've been wondering about this. How do they actually do it? I know authenticwatches say they have their own watchmakers doing service and repair - how would that interact with the watch going to Breitling service centers after the warranty period (provided serial numbers are intact so that they will accept it)? Other online dealers - do they perform the operations themselves or do they send in the watch to Breitling acting as the original customer? I know what I would prefer... |

My SA is actually bought through authenticwatches, but I know I'll never send it to them even if I need it - I rather take it to the AD/service center and pay right away even with a "valid" warranty. However, there's a great way of solving this. When you buy a Breitling in Japan, you become a member of "Club Breitling". As a member you can freely visit the Breitling workshop, runs for a week once a year. During this week you actually might get discounts (but this is the only time you get them in Japan), try and feel all models shown in Basel and last (but not least) send any Breitling for service for half the price! |

The best thing to do IMHO if you buy from an on-line who gives their own warranty instead of a Breilting one, is to simply pretend there's no warranty at all. If you are very unlucky and find you have a problem, I'd be inclined to bit the bullet, send it to Breitling and pick up the bill as you would with any watch once it's out of warranty. If you saved enough by buying on line in the first place, then you should still be up on the deal. There's just no way I'd let any of these so called "fully trained in-house watchmakers" loose on a Breitling of mine. |

Couldn't agree more, but I do wonder......... You have to assume that cost is an issue for these online places, and as has been said non OEM parts are a major concern, but somewhere in the online / original AD chain is the warranty card - wouldn't the cheapest way be for them to send it in to Breitling - Breitling would never know that the watch wasn't being sent by the seller. |

You're so right, Driver, about staying clear of these so-called "fully trained technicians" who work for grey market sellers. I had a friend who turned his watch over to one of these "experts" for routine service. When he finally got the watch back, not only was it not running, but there were so many scratches on it, you'd think they used a chisel and hammer to get the piece open. An absolute nightmare! Nobody short than a certified Breitling technician will ever touch my watches.
