Post subject: | Aerospace Update---Two questions |
My old Aerospace 80360 just returned from BUSA after a complete overhaul, including an upgrade to a new SuperQuartz movement. Replaced crystal, hands, gold rider tabs. They did fantastic job, restoring the watch to like-new appearance. But now I have two questions for the experts: 1. Included in overhaul was a new stem and crown. Now rotating the crown to access the watch's various functions is EXTREMELY stiff. My fingers are bleeding from trying to turn the thing. The stiffness also affects pushing the crown... after pushing to start/stop the chrono for example, the resistance overcomes the spring, and the crown does not pop back out after pushing it in. I need to manually pull it out after pushing it. The Breitling tech says that this is normal due to the new crown gasket, and it will loosen up after a week or so. This doesn't sound right to me... In fact, the stiffness seems to be getting worse with time and usage. Anybody else experience this? 2. I noticed the chrono can be switched between two different modes, labeled on the lower LCD as "SP" and "Ad". I can't discern any operational differences between these two modes. What do these designations stand for, and what do they do? Thanks, --Phil |

I can't help with the mode question as I don't own an Aerospace. However as far as I understand it, the sensitivity of the crown can be adjusted, so I'm not suire I agree with the Breitling tech's appraisal that the crown is always like that when it's new. I've handled quite a few in AD's and they've never been tough enough to make my fingers bleed! I'd ask for it to be looked at if I was you. |

No mention in the either OM. I'd call Breitling service and ask them. Could be diagnostic codes? |
