Great story, cue the 'I thought it had to be an aviation related emergency' questions :)

I remember smiling while a few people complained about the Emergency advancing a few rounds in the tournament. I don't fly or
Hike or live in snow country or travel in remote areas but if I did, I would own one. It's as uniquely Breitling as just about anything they make.

Happy ending very cool to hear the watch did its job. I only wish he had been attacked by the Bears he was hunting and that forced the need to activate his watch. That would have made for such a better story and a tiny bit of Karma.

Might have been a first round loser here but I never go anywhere without mine...

You can't pay for publicity that good. Breitling must be lovin' it.

Very cool story (even if I personally don't remotely agree with the hunting of bears).

As has been said, Breitling couldn't buy that kind of brilliant publicity if they tried.

Even though I was one of the people who expressed surprise at the E going quite so far in the "Best Breitling" polls, I only said that account of it being a very niche watch, and a quartz.... and historically as a forum we are very much skewed towards mechanical watches. But I am also the first to admit that the Emergency is totally unique in the marketplace and is, in actual fact, probably the very best example of a TRUE "Instrument For Professionals" that Breitling make.

I saw this elsewhere. It's a great story.

I think it's an absolute shame the Emergency got knocked out of our "Greatest Breitling" competition so early on. It's easily one of the most innovative watches on the market from a practical standpoint (not a technical, movement-related standpoint). It's one of a kind and embodies what Brietling should be about. I'm looking forward to the upcoming release of the new Emergency. If it isn't butt ugly, like most of what Breitling has released of late, and is 44mm or less, I may actually consider purchasing it.

Wow, that's incredible. Always wanted an Emergency (the watch). Hopefully when the new model finally arrives it won't be too monstrously huge!

There is a nice irony to this story.

The guy who was rescued is Mark Spencer.

The famous UK retailer Marks & Spencer was founded in..............yes you guessed it 1884 the same year as :lingsrock:

Karma........
