hiya guys

I've had my blue face SA for 2 weeks now and loving every minute of it. haven't really taken it off and none of my others have had any wrist time yet!!!!!!!its such a beast and has drawn compliments from everyone

i'm looking to vary things with a new leather strap but don't really fancy a blue leather strap on my blue face SA. would a brown leather strap look good or just wrong???? i love the brown leather look on the black face SA and was wondering if anybody had any pics of their navy blue SA on a brown (or even black) leather strap??

many thanks, donkamio 8)

Have you been to the Japan fitting site yet? Select Aeromarine, then Super Avenger etc and you can try out different looks.

I've noticed a bit of a trend in some AD's (and posted a thread a while back) for putting brown straps on blue dial watches. The RESOUNDING feeling on here was that it was just wrong, but on the right watch I thought it was kind of OK.

Black would probably be a safer bet if you really don't want blue croco, but as In2Deep said, check out the fitting section on the Japanese site if you haven't done so already. You might find a totally new combination that really works! (But probably not! )

i'm quite feeling this combo- the classy croc against the regal blue looks good on screen

I'm sorry but blue and brown doesn't work for me. I think the blue looks good on blue croc... with deployant ;)

That blue/brown combo might work, but your clothing options is even more limited than with just one of them (either blue or brown). However, with the right clothing it could be wonderful, I think.

When you say the "gold" is your favourite and you're afraid it's the most expensive one - "gold" is just the color (not actually gold) and as far as I know the price is just the same as for a blue/brown/black strap. At least that was what my AD told me...

Correct, all croc are the same price, all calf are the same price.

Oh and the blue and gold (or brown, or butgundy, or camel) - it's just wrong.

yeah- i meant the official 'colour' of the strap as being gold not the buckle type. :D

Same here, I would go for a blue strap.

I am in the same situation (thinking about other options for my blue SA).

The brown/blue is not totally wrong, but I am leaning towards buying a black strap (cant decide if I am going rubber or croc) for it... looks a bit more balanced and goes better with almost anything you wear.

Just my 2 cents.

(I will post pics when I have bought the strap/s so you can check them out)

Yes, it is not the easiest dial to combine with straps if you want to avoid blue ones (like us).

Will go strap shopping later this month after I get my white SA. The trick for me is to find a strap that goes with both - that is why I am thinkning black...

In terms of color combos, it's been "more" acceptable to combine blue with brown. Blue and black traditionally was frowned upon (clothing-wise), but that's been recently relaxed. Of course, so has grammar and usage on the internet and in business emails

That said, I would always be inclined to follow traditional clothing color combos on a watch--which after all is a piece of apparel in many ways.
