Due to a recent bit of good fortune, I purchased something I always wanted a couple Breitling watches. The Windrider Cockpit was a few years old but new and I got a really good price on it, I love its style and the roman numbers.
The Colt was bought through AAFES.com again a great price. It has a real masculine look and feel. I like the quartz movement because it's my daily watch and I don't have to worry about it.
The folks in the Introductions side said I should share.

I do have a question though, I was thinking about swapping the standard brown calf skin band for a deploy band and buckle. Can any of you tell me what I should expect to pay? Local AD said around $550.

550 for the deployant with straps seems about right. try contacting a member on here FEAR he is AD and should be able to help you out with the straps and deployant. congrats on the new pieces BTW and welcome to B-source

Congratulations, I just bought the same watch and got a great deal on it too. It looks great on my wrist and next to my other Cockpit, a black Dial SS band. My only disappointment was the color of the strap. I have ordered a genuine Breitling deployant buckle from an AD, because they have the best price, but the strap I ordered is a Hirsch Alligator, because I prefer the color.

Nice score! I have just purchased my first, though it isnt here as of the moment. Sure would be nice to pick up one that you wouldnt have to be quite as aware of when out tooling around (I am a greasemonkey as a hobby).

I also have a Steelfish for "tooling around". They are indestructable and the few minor scratches only add to its character.

The Steelfish is a great all around watch. It's my weekend beater.

It's like the old Timex commercials - Takes a licking and keeps on ticking.

Cheers.
