Post subject:  New watch running 6 seconds fast.
So my new Blackbird is running exactly 6 seconds fast which is within spec and I understand that but my inner OCD nature would like it a little closer to true. Would an AD be able to open it and just using experience know how to far to alter whatever they alter to get closer to perfect? I'm not expecting +/- 1 second but something near it would be nice - and I don't want to have to send it back to Breitling as technically it is within tolerances so they would charge a lot I suspect.

If its 6 Sec's per day that not bad for a new watch.
If as your title states its a new AD watch it will need time to settle in. This time may vary but as a guide a few weeks of continuous ware should "settle" it in nicely. Then if its still outside COCS it may be time for a AD to regulate it.

Well as the OP notes it's not outside of COSC now (though it may be outside of COCS :poke: :lol: ).

If it is new from an AD then it will be settling, but you are going to start down a long road if you try and have it regulated closer. You'll get it close to +/- 0 and then the weather will change, or your wearing habits will change slightly, or you'll have a day where you don't wear it much, and suddenly it's inaccurate again.

The purpose of regulation is to average out all of the inherent variances to close to net zero, but because some of those variations are caused by environmental / usage factors COSC should be considered acceptable.

I have been measuring it against the Hamburg atomic clock (it beams a signal to my outdoor thermometer apparently) and it has been exactly six seconds out per day over twenty days be it sunshine or paralysing rain (this is England after all). I'll redo my little test in a couple of months.

Sounds like you should get your inner OCD regulated to within spec or quit looking at your outdoor thermometer.

I have a new nav LE 01 just a little over a month but I always losing 1 or 2 sec everyday I set mine +6 sec faster week and a half ago now it's at -6 sec is this normal?

COSC is -4 to +6 seconds per day so it's fine. It's also new and therefore still settling.

Wll that`s up to you surely. COSC specs say that a watch can lose between 4 seconds a day and gain 6 seconds a day. Yours is losin 1 to 2 seconds a day so it`s fine. When you choose to reset it to spot on accuracy (or whether you even worry about to the second accuracy) is up to you.

(Being OCD myself I bought a superquartz. I just knew that my fretting over the plus/minus performance each day would transcend the pleasure of owning a mechanical watch...)

Relax and as said previously give some time to settle in.

Also, realize there are 86,400 seconds per day. What's a measly 6?
