So what's the scoop with ultrasonic cleaners. The sales girl at Tourneau offered to clean my SA free of charge with their ultrasonic cleaner. I declined because I wasn't sure if it was hazardous to the movement etc. Can anyone educate me? ![]() |

I'm curious what the pros say here. I've always heard that was a big no for watches. Strange Tourneau offered to do this? |

Strange Tourneau offered to do this? It is a 100%, absolute NO An ultrasonic cleaner is the best way I know to remove the jewels from the movement. Breitling use ultrasonic cleaners to clean watch cases, bracelets, etc during a service, but only after the movement has been removed. I can't believe that Tourneau were offering to remove the movement - in fact I hope they weren't as they would then have to find some new hands, and they really should know better. |

Genius idea. Take your ling with the most dings in it back to Tourneau and let the ultrasonic the hell out of it and mess it up. Demand they give you a new watch and also give you the option to buy another one at cost. Win/win in my book ![]() |

That should be fine. On another note, now that I have my Bergeon 6767-F and screwdrivers etc, I'm sure it would be fine to do just the bracelet right? |

Toothbrush Warm water Soap You can also use a cape cod cloth, then repeat this process and it looks brand new. I've heard some people using toothpaste also and getting great results (has a polishing effect on the bracelet). |

Shows you how stupid I am then. I've done this randomly with some bracelets, just soap/water and the occasional cape cod, and it's been working fine. Again, if I screw something up bad enough it's just an excuse to buy another! |

So far all I've needed is my Selvyt and my nano-fiber polishing cloths, though I do have some Cap Cods on hand if I need them ![]() |

You shouldn't use toothpaste - too abrasive. |
