I'm concerned the dial size is small on these, if I remember correctly. Can anyone comment please, thank you.

The short answer is that you have to try it and see how it feels to you. The current trend is for larger watches and the Colt is small at just over 41mm, but so what?

I have wrists that are close to 8 inches, and I have some large watches, but I also wear smaller pieces - I love vintage pieces and 50 or 60 years ago 41mm would have been considered huge.

If the Colt is the piece you like then try it on and see how it sits on your wrists - I am wearing my Cosmonaute today (41.5mm) and it certainly doesn't dominate, but it also doesn't get lost.

I dont' think it's too small at all. I've grown accustomed to big watches but still wear my Colts on a regular basis.

Just try one on and see what you think. I do believe the Colt wears, for some reason, a lot larger than some similar sized models (Rolex Sub, etc).

I'm on the other side of the coin. I too have large wrists and find that even 45mm is borderline for me. Best bet is to go by your AD and try a couple on ;)

I say too small. i have 6.625" wrists and bad a colt. i thought it was too small and got rid of it. Its just my preference so ymmv. Small is subjective, so its up to you to decide.

That would be big!!!

Actually I think you'll find the Colt Auto II is 41.1mm - not inches

Just to add my 2 pence worth -

Size, like everything else to do with watches, is a totally personal thing. Yes the current trend is towards bigger watches, and yes I personally prefer bigger pieces, but there is no right or wrong size. At the end of the day you need to feel comfortable with whatever watch you buy, and the only real way to know what will suit is try on various pieces to see what feels right to you. (The right watch will "speak to you"!) It's absolutely no use whatsoever buying a 48mm SA just because others like them, if you actually feel like a clown wearing it! The same goes the other way too - don't let anyone tell you a watch is too small.

On this site we all voice our personal opinions on watch size and other factors, but they are just that.... PERSONAL OPINIONS.

Watches like these are pure luxury goods, so just remember you are buying them for you, and you alone. No-one else.

Try a few, wear them for a little while in the shop and keep your ears alert - one will be saying, "buy me, buy me"! :)

As suggested, you can only try and see for yourself. I don't have a problem with the size, even if I normally carry much bigger diameters. However, it takes a little while to adapt (in both directions) and for those minutes you'll automatically think it's rather "out of size".
