Post subject:  orange dial orange strap?

Hello all,

I'm all new to this forum, just stumbled across it today - whilst looking for a specific Breitling model.

I was at a party yesterday, where one guy was wearing a breitling:

Orange Chrono dial !
Orange Rubber strap, with Breitling written in big embossed letters (like the pro driver strap)

It looked fairly genuine, and I have frantically tried to find it online, without luck. It was huge and orange, and quite cool looking - but never got down to asking him about it.

Hope someone can help me! Firsly to verify it's validity, and secondly where to purchase one like this.

regards,
Mads

Hi nipmads

:welcome: to the forum

We'll try to get an idea of what it was you saw.

Have a look here and see if it's a vintage model like the Sprint

http://breitlingsource.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4144

Other than that what can you tell us about it?

Case colour/material?

Position, number and function of sub dials?

Crown/pushers position & shape?

That will be a start.

Then we'll try to find it.

ok, here goes.
It was very large, case was in stainless steel - dial was in orange, with what seems to be a 3 way chronometer, possibly 4-way, maybe some moon-phase? not quite sure.

What puts me off though, is that the strap (prodiver) seen on this website in black, was in bright orange on this gentlemans arm.

I've looked throuh the vintage, and this definitley didn't look vintage.

From what I remember, crowns on it's left side.

hope you can help! Quite interested to see if this exists, or if it's a well made fake..

Can't speak to the watch without seeing photos but to my knowledge Breitling never produced an orange rubber strap of any kind. I have seen white rubber and orange rubber fakes on Ebay but havn't bothered looking for anything else. Hope this helps....
Cheers,
Ron

PS. As an aside, here is a coral dial "Emergency" with gold OEM croco strap which belongs to a friend of mine who bought my Crosswind/UTC. Took this shot while having lunch with him and his wife at a Salt Grass Restaurant steak house...

@ Ron - is that a camel croco strap there? It looks more orange than camel, but Breilting have never made an orange croco strap....

I've always fancied something on a camel strap but never found anything that it suits.

Hi, Driver. Yep, it is an OEM camel croc. Mike told me he had always wanted to buy a watch to match the camel croc so he bought the coral E for his experiment. Quite unusual but once you get over the initial surprise at seeing the combo, it starts to look better and better... 8) :D
Cheers,
Ron

Cheers for that Ron. I think it looks pretty good.

Although you may be able to get away with camel on some of the Navi's, the only other watch that I've seen that really suits the camel is a rose-gold Chronomat Evo, with the white dial and romans. That looks great.

nipmads: As said, it's very difficult without seeing it, but till then my vote says "fake".

Yeah, I think we all have in mind some of those truly hideous bright coloured fakes that come up on eBay occasionally - but let's hope not.

I like the camel croc, but not sure I'm going to pay the price of admission - I just can't see myself in coral.

Whoa there! Calm down Roff.... I know when you read the letters "DB" and see a rotor you get a funny urge to buy it! Just listen to my voice and repeat after me, "It's a fake. Don't buy it! It's a fake. Don't buy it!"
