Post subject:  Navitimer - "hand it over"

I was having coffee with a colleague, when I noticed he was wearing a Navitimer, all white dials. I asked to see it. It was much lighter than my SOHC 46 (to be expected I guess). I asked him when he bought it and he told me that he had asked a friend to give him the watch and the friend obliged. At this point I wanted to yell "Fake!".

I don't have enough knowledge on Breitlings to judge genuine from fake, but would any of you hand over a real Breitling to a friend?

I guess I am jealous.

I've had a Cosmonaute Serie Speciale very kindly lent to me by a friend (and forum member) before to wear during a wedding I was a groomsmen in.

However I don't think many people would just give someone else a Breitling!

Although maybe they were displaying the biblical principle of generosity.
Quote:
And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well. If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles. - Matthew 5:40-41

The one you saw may have been a fake though.

There have been a few threads on here about spotting fakes and reactions... Just about a month ago I was playing poker with a group of buddies. I glanced down at one of their wrists and saw a BO1 on OR. I looked again as something seemed off on the dial, the subs didn't look right, the fonts etc.... it was a fake, a decent one I guess as far as those go. The tang clasp on the OR was the final give away. He saw me looking, and said "oh you have a Breitling too" kind of nervously as if I were about to bust him. I just asked where he got it and he told me that his brother in law was letting him borrow it... I said, yeah they sure are great watches..
