I think I already know the answer from last time I was trying to be talked out of a Yellow Seawolf. But I give it another go. I know this is the wrong place to be talked OUT of a watch.

First I think a Seawolf with numbers, not batons, is a lot like my Steelfish. Second I already have two decent 3-handed watches (SF and Omege PO). But for some strange reason I REALLY want a yellow Seawolf, can't explain why. Got a line on one with full kit (box, papers) out of warranty at 3 years old. Looking hopeful that I might be able to manage a trade of my vintage Zodiac that I am not in love with + $$$ and snag the wolf for around $2K. Sure I lose money on the Zodiac, but I don't have any selling fees this way and it is quick painless and gone.

Plan B. I am totally in love with the Transocean Chrono LE. It would add chrono to my collection be nothing like my PO or SF. Display back is way cool in my mind. In house movement...what am typing for you all know the score on the TOC. Obviously more money....more than double on the used market.

So sit tight on the SW as there will always be more...but I want it. The TOC will take some time, maybe never as I am starting to question multiple high dollar (for me at least) watches. $2-3K seems "reasonable", not sure why - but $5K territory seems to be pushing the bounds of just plain silly for a used watch. But again I really like the TOC.

Also, curious to know from a general perspective if you would rather have two $2,500 watches or one $5,000 watch. For me I think I am leaning towards the yellow Seawolf + $$$ in hand over a $5,000 TOC, even though I think the TOC is probably my favorite current Breitling. Maybe a SW and 810 Top Time would satisfy both longterm.

Well... from a perspective of a guy not really into dress watches, which I think the TOC still is (dress sport maybe), I'd go with the yellow SW. I normally like chronos but the TOC just doesn't do enough for me to justify the price differential. If you tire of the SW (due to color) you should still be able to unload it with not too big a hit (?). I see what your thinking about having too many three hand pieces being too much alike, but the color would set it apart - wouldn't bother me.

Now a used Navitimer would probably sway me differently.

If you really like the TOC though... ?? hard to fight it!

Kodiak, Agree at that price I should be able to move it for about what I have in it.

If you want a watch, go the TOC route, if you want a Breitling, the Avenger is where it's at.

This is to say, the Anenger, however nice it may be, is a generic watch with a distinctive look. The TOC on the other side is a distinctive watch with a somewhat generic look. Controversial opinion, I know.

So, what matters most to you? The case or the movement (both being perfectly valid and legitimate buying factors, it's up to personal preference)

Fellow Baltimorean, I think the LE Transocean Chrono is an awesome looking watch...however it is overly dressy for me personally, who likes plain, stainless, brush dive watches that I can be hard on and have the finish stay relatively unchanged. But it is still an awesome watch. The SW to me is similar to the SF...and functionally speaking they are near identical unless you plan to take advantage of that extra 3,400 feet of water resistance, which would be one epic technical dive given it would be 5 times the dept of the deepest dive in history

If you like dressier watches, I'd say the Transocean. It will absolutely be noticed in a crowd by even non-watch people. If you are considering a watch in that price range, you may also want to check out the Deep Sea, as so many guys here talk about it and it is an engineering marvel on your wrist. I saw one the other day and I instantly thought about James Cameron gliding his [Rolex-wearing] ROV to the bottom of the Marianas Trench in indisputable style.

I'd go the LE Transocean Chrono... different from what you have, something dressy for special occassions/meetings/formal nights etc... and that displayback! Put it on a strap and wow! (trust me...I'm a doctor! and that's my ummm... medical opinion? )

I would [did] go with the TOC. Classics never go out of style. If you don't absolutely need the LE, I might be able to help you out.

Change it up a little bit with the TOC. It couldn't hurt to try something new
