Post subject:  Hang tag designs and colours

Am trying to get a correct hang tag for my 2007 Aerospace Avantage. I note that there seem to be several different colour combinations, the usual one (that I have with my 'old style' Aerospace) is a round yellow seal with red string. I see there is also a yellow seal with blue string, and also a black seal with white text with black or dark grey string.

Anyone know the dates these were all used from and the correct one for 2007? And is there a way to determine a genuine or fake/repro one (assuming they exist)?

TIA.

no idea.

just curious why do you want the tags? if you already have the box and papers you should have no issue reselling your watch.

Same reason that other Breitling fanatics want the tags, and bezel protectors, and ..... Because that was what 'should' have come with the watch.

And as it happens no, I don't have the papers, which annoys the hell out of me that the previous owner decided that all the stuff other than the watch was just worthless waste packing, and chucked it away. But what I paid for it certainly took that into account  but have no intent of selling it anytime soon, unless Breitling change their design direction.....

I'm not sure if hang tags always come with the watch.
I bought three new Breitlings in the past from ADs in three different countries and none of them came with hang tags.

The round yellow chronometer tag seal with blue string dates from 2000 to around 2002. The same tag (text color varies) with red string is 2003 to around 2009. Subsequent tags are black with black or grey string. BTW, late 90's Breitlings (prior to the year 2000 when ALL Breitlings were Chronometer certified.) came with an elongated hexagonal yellow hang tag with blue text. My Evo is the same year as your AA and came with the round yellow tag, red string, later box set with padded travel case inside the bakelite box. Hope this helps.
Best,
Ron

First one is the blue string coffin shape used between 1996-2001, although i've seen them with a 2003 registed watch.
The first time I've seen the round one with the curved "BREITLING" with blue string was 2002 and were used 'til around 2006.
The Round hang tag with straight "BREITLING" and red string 2002-2010. Don't quote me on this as many watches sit around for years in store rooms.

Thanks Ron & happy_chappie ... Just the sort of info I need.

So looks like I need the yellow with red string. My AA has indeed got the new bigger box with travel case, but not the box with the little white aircraft on, IIRC the top of the box has a spinning prop on?

Off to trawl the feebay to see if anyone has a tag at a sensible price.
