Does anyone know anything about the 1999/2000 model Chronoracer Rattrapante - specifically the movement? Apparently it's a Calibre 69 which, according to the Chronolog, is "electro-mechanical" - a kind of hybrid quartz with a mechanical chronograph module bolted on.

I've never handled one of these, so does anyone know what the central second hand moves like when the chronograph is on? Does it (or rather 'they' as it's a rattrapante) tick like a quartz, or "sweep" like an automatic?

Any info appreciated.

The Chronoracer Rattrapante has a ticking second hand for the time keeping seconds, but the chronograph seconds is a smooth sweep like automatic.

Thanks Admin. So the seconds sub-dial is a "ticker", while the main chronograph centre-mounted seconds hand(s) is a "sweeper" - correct? (Sorry if I'm being a bit slow but it's been a long day!)

The thing about the chronoracer movement:
You have a base quarz movement with a mechanical chronograph modul.

In a normal quarz chronograph You have two engines moving the time hands and the chronograph hands.
In this movement You only have one engine, that moves all hands, and the start/stop mechanism is mechanically.

As I remember, it was a limited edition, very difficult to sell.

The same movement system was also used in the Jetstream/Chrono Cockpit (old) series.
