Cause I hope they do to hear the complaints of their customer base (ie. folks here not liking the changes made to the Colt, Blackbird, Chronomat line, and discontinuing several classic models (eg. Headwind). Maybe we should send a collective email petition to them or something. Lol.

I mean, first the design changes/model discontinuance, the price hikes, move to cardboard box presentations, and then offering them at outlet malls?! What next, Breitlings sold at Wallmart? Man, I may have to switch to being a Rolex fan. :)

Yes they do.

Are you talking about gray market sellers, or are there ADs at outlet malls?

Edit: Nevermind - just saw Justin's post. Wow. I love a good outlet mall as much as the next guy, but jeez - it's not a way to be upmarket, that's for sure.

Apparently. They just (again, apparently) choose not to take any of it in! :?

But just in case this post is read -

Dear Breitling,

Firstly, can we please have a 3-hand in-house automatic equiped proper diver's watch please? FYI, "Proper" means no rubber bezel, not too many fonts (and try to keep the Buck font to an absolute minimum - and ideally not there at all), no wacky childish colours (although a yellow or coral dial option is always OK on a diver), circa 44mm in diameter, brushed finish, and a lume-pearl on the bezel. Think an evolution of the Steelfish or Seawolf and you won't go far wrong on looks. (PS - Evolution means gradual change from what went before, not starting from scratch).

Secondly, can we have the B04 movement put inside the 46mm Navitimer World case, with a nice classic and non-offensive dial please? A black dial with white/silver subdials is always a good start.

I would sell a number of my current collection to fund both of these pieces immediately if they existed.

Ever hopefully yours,
Driver8

Dear Breitling,

Please hire a new designer who doesn't cheat on his wife so that we can get those rider tabs back.

Kind Regards,
dlNYC

Now the designer hopes his wife does not read these boards.
The secret is out :-)

Sadly, the rider tabs are never coming back.

Edit: I mean, obviously, on the models they're no longer used on.

I kinda figured that, but at least carve some numbers on those blanks. They look so bare IMO.

I would sure hope so given this is the single most feedback-rich place for all of their products.

This forum presents an opportunity for inexpensive product testing with new designs through 'virtual' focus groups. That is a valuable tool that is underutilized by companies today, and no company is too 'elite' for product testing using the people who will ultimately buy their products.

I'm not so convinced about that.
Sure there may be 12,500 or so registered members here. I have certainly not counted the numbers but it does feel like 95% of the post come from 5% of the members. Hell, Driver8 and Roffs contribution alone amounts to more than 10% (great contributions BTW) :-)
Whenever a passionate discussion erupts along the lines of "Did you see that hideous thing..." it is normally a relatively small handfull of regulars that participate in the debate.
All in all a spit in the ocean comparing to Breitling's annual customer base.
In actual fact, it would not surprise me if Breitling sees this site as a bit of a pain in the proverbial given it's quite strong presence in the www (just google Breitling) and the messages it sends.
