Anyone have or seen a Superocean 44 'Polished'

Post subject:  Anyone have or seen a Superocean 44 'Polished'
I've been thinking about buying another watch for a while and have
narrowed it down to a Superocean 44 or 42.
I wanted something a bit different from what I already have and
really liked the polished case & bracelet on the SO 42.
On the Breitling web site I see the SO 44 can be ordered with a
polished case & bracelet but have never seen one in any jewellers or
on any forums.
Does anyone have one or have any pictures? Are they 'special order'
only? If so, does it carry a price premium & what would the lead time
be? Are the available in the UK?

Since Breitling shows a polished finish as a standard option, I don't expect it would be special order in terms of having one made. However, your AD may have to order one if they don't have one on hand. The price will be the same either way, although I don't know if having to order one might affect your AD's willingness to offer a discount.

Polished SO 44 does not seem very popular.... No pics from anyone.....

Most of my dealers have nothing but polished everything. Personally I'm not a fan of polished so it sounds like we should switch locations.

A lot of times you cannot tell in pictures...ones that are actually polished may appear brushed and vice versa, and the SO42 polished looks different from the SO44 polished which looks different from the SO44 brushed IMO.

This is a brushed 44 (you can see the brush lines on the top 'lumes' (I think that is the right terminology)

Here is a (presumably) polished one (it looks totally different in person)

However, it may be my blind eyes but when I see a picture of a watch it looks different to me than seeing it in person. The first time I saw a Steelfish, I was like "no way"...then when I saw it in person I was like "I will one day own this watch even if I have to sell a testicle" :lol:

One thing some members do, myself included, is to take a Cape Cod (or other polishes) to the brush finish to get a nice radiant reflection, but not something so high polish that it shows every bit of dirt, fingerprints, and fine scratches. I'd say when polished it sits right between the brushed you see in the store and the polished.

Price-wise I dont think there is any difference in MSRP and 15-20% seems pretty standard.

I have only ever seen a SO42 polished, are you saying the SO44 polished looks different to the 42? If so, In which way, less 'mirror like'?

To me, the different sized watch heads changes the dynamics of the watch substantially. A SO42, SO44, Avenger, and Super Avenger all use the same bracelet, the Pro 2. However, if you look at them in person, the bracelet looks different because the watch head changes the size comparison. Additionally, the amount of polished vs. the amount of brushed on the watch head also affects how the polished Pro 2 looks through either a compliment or contrast. This is all just what I've personally noticed so I'm sure others would say I'm crazy :lol:

I'm think the SO44 uses a 22/20 bracelet and the SO42 a 20/18??

Can anyone confirm?
