I'm thinking of polishing the brushed bezel on my Super Avenger with some Cape Cod to restore the mirror finish and match the rest of the case.

Just wondered if I did go ahead with this, would I have problems with BUK in the future regarding warranty or service issues as the watch would be classed as modified right?

Also, will this be enough to achieve a good finish:

If anyone has gone down this route I would love to see your pics.

It wont affect the warranty, but Breitling may restore it to default when you send it in for a service. Cape cods will shine it up, but it will be tough to achieve the true Breitling polished look without a buffing wheel and some compound.

Use a Dremel power tool with some compound first and then finish it off with the Cape Cods. I was going to do that with mine before they were stolen but I put Diamond bezels on both of my SA's. When I get a new one I'm going to polish out the bezel too.

Do all SA's come with a brushed bezel? Would an AD be able to polish the bezel?

Yes and probably, some may refuse, but most will likely do it.

I'd use 1200 grit wet & dry abrasive paper to smooth the grain down before buffing with a cape cod. The cloths will never fully remove the graining from the bezel.

Just thought I'd update this thread and post a few pics for anyone who might be considering doing the same thing.

So after spending just under an hour polishing my bezel with a cape cod cloth, I am pleased with the finish. Not perfect, as I couldn't get into the marker grooves with just the cloth. But overall the bezel now matches the rest of the watch (I was never a fan of the two tone effect tbh).

I think that looks good :D when polishing, did you remove the bezel from the watch or polish it in situ ?

Yep removed the bezel. Takes less than a couple of minutes.

Those two pics above are of it polished.
iPhone pics don't really do it justice tbh, but in the flesh it's as shiny as the rest of the case.

A few of it freshly polished.

Would probably get a better finish with a dremel tool or getting an AD do it, but am satisfied with the finish from a £5 cape cod cloth and a bit of elbow grease :D

Looks great! Sorry, for some reason my iPhone wasn't showing the pictures you had above at the time.
