Hi Guys

My name is Andy and im a newbie here..!
I'd like to ask your advice please....

Im looking at buying a new Chronomat from one of the high street chains in UK.... i know the price has recently gone upto £3505 for this model.

I'm going to buy one in this country - just wondered what you all thought to the Breitling Chronomat, and what I should realistically expect to pay for a watch thats advertised for £3505.
What's the difference between AD's and someone like Goldsmiths Jewellers - who arent AD's?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Welcome aboard!

The Chronomat is a fantastic watch, and if it was a little bigger than 43.7mm I'd DEFINITELY own one myself. You can't go wrong with one.

In terms of what to expect to pay from a UK AD, well the simple answer is you can expect to pay full list price, or at least very very close to it. Unless you have an existing relationship with an AD you can probably expect less than 5% off. UK AD's are not the most receptive to discounting. Even with an existing relationship (i.e. if you've already bought a number of watches from them you will struggle to get anything more than 10%).

To give you some idea - I tried on a TT Chronomat with a diamond bezel at a different AD to my usual one, that had a list price of £8265, and the bloke only offered to knock the £65 off. Not exactly an earth shattering discount!

Not quite sure what you mean by the last question about AD's. Any high street store that is selling brand new Breitlings will be an Authorised Dealer. Some Goldsmiths stores sell Breitlings (and thus are Breitling ADs), whereas some do not. Basically you can only sell new Breitlings on the high street if you are a Breitling Authorised Dealer. (Obviously some jewellers that are not AD's may have second hand Breitlings from customer trade-ins that they resell, but that is it).

Hi Andy,

Firstly the watch: personally I think the Chrono Evo is one of the best Breitlings (there's a good video review of it in the Reviews section). I was completely set on getting a Skyracer for months but, when I went to actually buy it, I saw the new Silver Chrono Evo in the shop and I have neither at the moment because I can't make my mind up. Aesthetically the Chrono Evo is great and, I understand, it has a very reliable movement. There are loads of photos on this and other sites so see what you think.

Secondly the dealer: I'm also in the UK and Goldsmiths are an Authorised Dealer (certainly the ones I've been to in Leicester and Sheffield). Are you sure their not mentioned on Breitling's site?

Hope that's of some help mate.

Hello Andy and welcome!

I have a red Chronomat (Evolution) and I really like it - despite the size. I wish Breitling would make a larger version of this watch, but unfortunately they don't (so far). I had my hope up to this years new models but it didn't happen so I got a "regular" one instead. Sure, when they (and I hope they do) introduce a larger one I'll be there! The Chronomat is very slim and elegant, if you compare it to the more bulky SA and AS. I like to have several options... My Chronomat gets a fair share of wrist time.

For UK dealers I can't help you very much, but I would imagine Drivers experience is spot on.
