the Hercules came in brushed finish and polished finish. Was it based on the model number 39362 39363? (I dont think so based on what i have seen on the market) Also, they made the first versions with non-screwdown crowns Is there a way to tell what is supposed to be polished vs what is supposed to be brushed? Herc came only brushed. A39362 is non-screwed crown, A39363 is screwed crown. |

good point. I will get on it. may be tomorrow though . I have one purchased from an AD in the caribbean, 100% complete, and has never been refinished black on black dial. it is the non-screw down crown |

Go here: http://www.breitlingsource.com/watch_details/Professional_5.html and click on the photo with the all blue dial. That definitely looks like a polished case and bracelet to me. Kuretime, I think you are vindicated! |

not sure i needed to be vindicated ![]() I have one, and to my knowledge they made both Polish and Satin finishes. The Herc has always been one of my faves and still is. Lets just say I have some serious experience there..... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I've never personally seen a polished Hercules before either. Gives it an extremely different look. Very nice, but very odd the vast majority of us never saw one at the time. Guess there wasn't many of them around. |

Kuretime, I think you are vindicated! The all blue A36362 one is mine. It has a Polished case and back with a brushed finish bezel. The bracelet (887A S1801 ) is polished with the inner link brushed. As far as i know this is all original. ![]() |

Well bnewbie has more dealer books than I do, but I cannot find a factory reference to a polished Hercules anywhere. Does that mean that it's non factory, no, but it would imply (along with the fact that they are very rarely seen) that it is extremely uncommon. |

I have had two over the years. They are rare. I think it was only the first year, but cant confirm. As Roff and others say, cant find any references. I have sought them out when i look,. Also, a note, they all *seem* to be the black on black or blue on blue version, not the black w/ silver subs, or blue with silver subs.... I think anyone clueful on breitling history has left breitling and been replaced with marketing people, so not sure we can get any help there ![]() |
