I'll start:

full ling: A Breitling watch that has a minimum lug width of 24mm and a diameter of at least 46mm and is accompanied by a metal bracelet, not a strap. This diameter applies to round Breitlings. Examples of full lings: Super Avenger, Bentley Motors, Navitimer World.

Sorry what is that? Is the Legende a "full ling"?

Lug width is the size of the gap where the bracelet fits onto the watch.

As for the Legende - not just a full ling, the suggestion has been made that it's a permanent full ling as the bracelet can never be removed.

The whole half ling / three quarter ling / full ling thing is just a light hearted thing here - nothing official about it - they're all Breitlings after all!

shamrock,

I'm speaking for the "little guys," the 3/4 Ling owners
and 1/2 Ling owners, members of a justly proud fraternity. We
don't bow for a second to those stuffy Full Ling owners, whose
only claim to greatness is their SIZE!

Don't let them fool you, Shamrock. Bigger isn't always better.
Owning a Full Ling is an ego trip, nothing more, nothing less. What
can a Super Avenger do that my Skyland can't? And what Full Ling
will even come close to equaling my Steelfish's ability to breathe
underwater at 2000 meters? I can't think of one.

Sure, they're impressive to look at, and I've heard that some
women can actually be aroused by their epic proportions.
But have you ever noticed that, at least in the pix,
most guys who wear Full Lings have skinny little wrists?
Hmmm! Some kind of compensation issue going on there!
At least we 1/2 and 3/4 Ling owners are secure in our masculinity.
After all, I do have a 9.5 inch...wrist :D

Shamrock, I don't know what your Breitling stable consists of, but
whatever you own, wear it with pride -- and don't take any of this
size nonsense seriously. :)[/i]

Busted!!!! yep I have skinny wrists (7.25inch) and yep, i bought my SA because it was the biggest, shiniest brute out there. It is a ego-trip but everytime i gaze down at the beast on my skinny wrist i think, wow.

Thanks for having a good sense of humor about all the silliness I
wrote. I'm glad nobody took it seriously. Actually, I admire guys with
smallish wrists having the guts to slap on a megapiece like the SA
and get out there and mix it up in the real watch world.

When I bought my Skyland I gave some very serious thought to
picking up an SA -- but I wimped out, I admit it. It just seemed too
intimidating. Maybe someday...

Anyway, as somebody said, "All Breitlings are great; just enjoy them."

Steve

I think Motors T owners are honorary members until they make a trip to the polishing man
