Hi Guys, Just after a little advice, I may be looking to buy this watch shortly. But I wondered if you can cast your eye over it and see if there is anything that looks not right? My concern with it is really to do with the card in the photo - I can't tell if the details aren't on there (i.e not filled out correctly) or if they've been blocked out for the picture. (I've asked the guy the question waiting on reply). Also the embossing looks to be a US company, the guy and the watch are in the UK, would that make anyone suspicious? I know that people buying these watches travel all over so not totally a big deal? There is a scratch at 5 o'clock on the saphire, I've asked a repair man and he's quoted £250 for saphite, work, and resealing which I think is pretty good. Anything stick out to anyone to stop me buying this? Thanks Nick |

I wouldn't use 'some guy' for the crystal replacement, I would use Breitling, avoids potential problems downstream. I would want to know the service history of the watch as it's an older model, but nothing else concerning. |

A lot of these older 40mm Aerospaces are getting quite tatty now, so I would certainly ask for more photos. perhaps there are more and you haven't shared them? I would want to see the case back as these are prised off, and people use all sorts or crap instead of the correct tool for this. Some do their won battery changes too. Look for damage. I'd like to see a better photo of the damage to the lug at 5 O'clock. All importatnt is the price being asked as all these things need to be taken into account as well as the odd ball paperwork (some kind of used watch papers that I've only seen in circulation recently) and the fact the strap looks very, very worn. All sounds a bit gloomy, but there are plenty of good ones out there still and they are great watches. If you can pick this one up at the right price, I can't see you'd be disappointed ![]() |

![]() ![]() Watches move all over the world so no worries on that score. Not that familiar with old paperwork but looks OK. I would have Breitling replace the crystal, which I assume will also mean a full service, but get a quote first. You might not think the cost is justified for such an old watch. There are a lot of Aerospaces about so don't be in a rush. |
