They sell refinishing pads on ebay that are made for brushed finishes, I guess a pot scubber would work as well

As some of you know I wear my Steelfish with the Pro 2 almost everyday and I have meantioned that I had gotten lots of scuffs and scratches on the bracelet (and dont care). Well tonight I was throwing the Diver Pro strap back on it to mix it up a little. I was looking the bracelet over and thinking that it was sure scuffed up a lot expecially with little circle scuff marks. And an idea came to mind.... Well no more scuffs! It looks fantastic again and cost me nothing to refinish. My secret was something so simple everyone can do it in 2 minutes. All you need it a DRY green pot scrubber and a small towel. I laid my bracelet on the towel and rubbed the bracelet (with the grain) about 20-25 times, rotated the bracelet for the other half, repeat and SHAZAM! Looked so good that it is now on my silver dialed Steelfish. It was so noticable that I showed my wife the difference before I did the second half of the bracelet and she said "wow". Nice. It is well known that the green [not to be confused with the blue etc.] scotch brite pads work wonders on brushed finishes. |

Good work! As RJRJRJ says, it's been mentioned a few times, but still good to know that people success with it! And pics are mandatory - otherwise you have to scuff it all over again and then make the re-finish once more! |

Scot, Exactly what kind of green pot scrubber are you'talking about? Before I chance ruining the Pro II on my Steelfish, I want to be sure I'm using the proper equipment. Can you tell us a little more about the scrub pad?

Nothing special, just the one my wife bought to scrub the dishes! This one has the green scrubber surface on one side and a yellow sponge on the other side. Be sure to only "stroke" the band in one direction (with the grain) and I didnt rub it back and forth, just in one direction. Literally 20 strokes and it was done. I have noticed that if you wet the green scrubbers, they become softer. So I did this with a dry pad, because you are actually scratching the bracelet back to the original one way grain pattern. I dont think the brand matters. Scotch makes them but I would bet my penny pinching wife bought a cheap scrubber. Scott |

Does anyone have their own power tool or dremel tools to do any polishing or buffing on your own. I have been giving this some thought about getting my own power tool and doing it myself. Does anyone have any experience doing this themselves and would recommend, or is this something I should leave to the pros?

Speaking of cape cods, how do you guys use yours? I just rub randomly in any direction and try to avoid the crystal and brushed parts. Anybody have any more insight? Should it only be done in one direction? Will light pressure yield worse results than heavy pressure--or vice versa? Ive also wondered if incidental contact with the polish and the crystal or brushed surfaces has any effects on its own, or is it the cloth that ruins these parts? |

I haven't needed it on my Emergency Mission but when Lewis was here the other day he tried it out on his Super Avenger and it came out excellent. Looked like it was just taken out of the box

Re: Cape Cod Haven't had any detrimental effects from getting cape cod on the crystal.. you have to rub pretty hard to affect the AR coating. As for getting cape cod on the brushed, even if you get a bit on and then rub it away you may notice a SLIGHT brightness on the metal from it being polished a bit, but then i just follow that up with a rub with a 30 micron polish cloth and the matte brush is right back. |

I would just take it to get it done by the AD... Depending on what activities you do though I would probably only get it professionally polished like twice a yr...

For sure, it says it right on my receipt that I get two professional cleanings per year from them
