So after settling down a bit and deciding I really have no need for watch of a higher caliber, I am sending my IWC Aquatimer off in a trade for a Breilting from the past designs without buck rogers font and colored dials.

The model was manufactured in the late 2000's and is one I have always had my eye on for a simple work watch. Even though this one will probably be pretty easy, anyone care to venture a guess on the model?

No croc strap at the moment, but after summer in central texas is up and I will order one then. I am pretty excited to try out the pilot bracelet since I love the navi bracelet on my CM24

Interesting that you imply that Breitlings are not "higher caliber." Congrats, nonetheless.

What I meant was that I was looking to do a two-for-one trade for a while and take the next step upwards to something like a JLC, Rolex, or other in-house model.

After some thought however the quality of my Lings suits me just perfect. Not a knock on Breitling just decided I didn't need to take a "step up" if you will.

I suppose it comes down to a matter of opinion. I don't think IWC is really all that much "better" than Breitling. Then again, I'm seriously generalizing the quality of both brands in that statement, so I see what you mean.

Glad you're satisfied though--that's all that counts in our hobby!

It did not take long for me to change my mind on this front. I am buying evnelson's blue croc strap to add a little color. I think this will be a stunning combo

Thanks sharkman! There are plenty of threads with love for the original cockpit, and the wearability. I was deciding between a Colt Auto II but the MOP dial is what got me.

I think it will fit in nicely with my navi an CM24, and the blue croc option will be a rather unique look.

I'm sure you will love it. It is a simple classy looking watch. Great looking on bracelet and strap. Comfortable too.
