Question folks- it wasn't till after Breitling stopped production of the Crosswind Special that I caught notice of them (in 2006), and aquired one at the time. Because the example I got wasn't in as good condition as I had wanted, I sold it and ended up regretting it big time. Well, last week I finally picked up a mint/just serviced by an AD CWS again, and love it. However, in reading more about this watch lately, I've learned that they seem to have come on the 354a faceted type bracelets. Interestingly enough, both versions of the ones I bought ended up coming on regular pilot bracelets. Does that mean that they are not period correct? Now mind you, this doesn't really bother me because I actually think the non-faceted bracelet matches the watch nicely because the lugs on the watch head are not faceted, but just curious if that means I have a Frankenwatch. Lol. Pic of the one I bought in 2006: ![]() And the one I own again now... ![]() |

The early ones came on non faceted bracelets, so it's likely fine. |

Ok, another question- why is it that I see some CWS dials with engine turned subdials and some without (mine seems like they are just satin finish)? Did Breitling produce them in some years with or without the engine turned subdials, or am I sporting a fugazi? ![]() |

Thanks,...Yes, I think it's the same one you are talking about. I talked to the seller, and he was really cool. The watch just came back from a full service at an AD, and he sent me the receipt as well. It looked perfect and runs perfect! Haven't taken it off since.... ![]() |
