Post subject:  Beyond Shiney - the New polished Blackbird !

Had to take my Steelfish in to local AD today, to have the strap adjusted. I had in the back of my mind, that it would be nice if they had a new, polished Blackbird in stock for me to see. Well, I was not disappointed. Wow! This baby brings new meaning to the term "sparkling". Not only have they polished the bezel (which I believe is exclusive to the Blackbird), the facets on the special Blackbird Pilot Bracelet, make the sparkle even more pronounced. So much, in fact, that I actually had a problem seeing the facets in the bracelet. That thing is polished everywhere, and I could spot it right away by how it stood out in the showcase. With polished bezel, and faceted bracelet it really stands out.
The back of the new Blackbird is also changed. Instead of the title "Blackbird" across the diameter of the back, it has the standard back with "BLACKBIRD" in capital letters, around the circumference, at the top of the back. Still makes it a bit special, although I did like the other look as well.
There was a brushed model right beside it in the case, which in my opinion, still looks outstanding. I did try the polished one on, but I would have to see that for me I would probably stick with the brushed one. The dial is rather understated, and I think the whole thing just works better with brushed. Either way, it is definitely one of the most Special Editions that Breitling makes. Definitely worth a look. If you want sparkle without diamonds, I would say this outshines all of the others.
Cheers,
Carl

Sorry there are no pics, but the watch is at my ADs in the showcase! Wish I could affort one now, though, the Blackbird is really one of my favourites.
Actually, I have seen a pic on the Japanese website, but it is so hard to tell the brushed from the polished in the picture.
Cheers,
Carl
