Post subject:  Should the AD submit warranty papers at purchase or give 2 u
Was looking to buy a used breitling on the board,watch is 2 years old, seller has all papers but they were left blank n not submitted . The 2 I own the 2different ADs both submitted mine at purchase. Is it normal to keep them blank, will breitling accept them if I submit them?

In the US the AD is supposed to send in the paperwork. A blank warranty was traditionally seen as a 'benefit' to the buyer in case the watch went wrong a little over 2 years after sale. BUSA is well aware of this practice and you should expect to be asked for some proof of the date of the original purchase if you want to get warranty service on a watch that appears as though it could have been sold more than 2 years ago.

If it's not a warranty issue then there is no problem.

That maybe true with regards to the warranty registration forms.
What about the warranty booklet? Is it also blank or is it filled in with model number, serial number, dated and stamped.
If it is the former one than it is as Roffensian says, if it is the second one than your world wide warranty goes by the date in the booklet.

I was referring to the warranty booklet.

Breitling aren't stupid, they are well aware that ADs try and help buyers extend the warranty by leaving the booklet blank and they are starting to clamp down.

I am 100% sure you were Roff, Breitling are not stupid and neither are you ;-)
You made it perfectly clear when you said - "A blank warranty was traditionally seen as a 'benefit' to the buyer".
OP just did not make it clear if the warranty was also blank or I did not register when he said - "seller has all papers but they were left blank n not submitted".
I'm just not used to the BUSA practiced "submitted" thing as in this part of the world you just get a stamped and filled warranty booklet and nothing is to be submitted by the buyer and not much is submitted to by the AD either other than perhaps a "Breitling Club" registration form which is all meaningless as you do not get to hear anything from anyway.
Most probably just a piece of paper that ends up in a bin.
So a properly filled and AD stamped warranty booklet plus an official purchase receipt from the AD are are what you get here and what counts in the end. Based on my experience with Breitling distributors here, the only record they have is when and to which AD they supplied the watch to.

Right, and that's how it is in most of the world, but in the US the AD sends a separate return to BUSA to register the sale and trigger the freebie to be mailed.

Hence the reason why my favorite AD in HK was so amazed to see my great Breitling bag when I saw them a few days ago which by the way came from another great and frequent US based BS forum member here. You know who you are Serge ;-)
The freebie thing is just not a norm over here, unless you count my 2GB flash stick that I managed to get from the the HK Breitling distributor after a lot of wheeling and dealing for my Navi Super Constellation :-)))
But than again if we look at HK sales volumes in the past, it does not look like HK needs any more incentives ;-)
