Hello there fellow enthusiates I needed a repair which in my eyes did not seem so drastic at first. In fact one of my chrono push buttons got stuck in the down postion. So they have to replace a gasket and spring and some other minor parts!!! I was just quoted $1000.00 for the repair. I am really freaked out I don't know if I will keep this time piece. This is a blue titanium avenger it is very nice but I can't believe this is happening. Let me know what are your opinions .
Thank You All

:yeahthat It looks like the price includes an overhaul. If they didn't include it as an option, then it's probably required due to the nature of the repair. Hopefully Roff or one of our other technically minded members can provide more feedback on that count. I sympathize, though. If you weren't expecting that kind of bill for what seemed like a simple repair, the price is a shocker. I can also understand if you're questioning if it's worth it. Just a bit of perspective, though: the watch was discontinued in 2007. The last retail price of the watch on bracelet was $3640, and it would undoubtedly be more expensive now. Assuming the $1000 charge includes an overhaul, you will be getting your watch back practically as good as new. If you really like the watch, it's a worthy expenditure.

If you want a sentimental justification, then it's that if you love the watch, you want to know it's been looked after to the highest standards. If you want a rational justification, then it enhances the value of the watch - s/h buyers will always factor in necessity/not of a service.

Full service with hands is going to account for more than two thirds of that, and not surprised by the total - I got dinged $150 for a pusher on a Navitimer which is simpler than an Avenger.

For the money you'll also get a 1 year warranty and a 'reset' on the 5 - 7 year service interval.
