Had my watch for many years and still love it just the same, looking at the gold bezel I was wondering how much and how easy would it be to change the tabs, crown and other two chronograph button to gold. Creating a full Gold look on my watch. Considering basically a little facelift. Where could I find these parts as all the B1 will be gold no SS like mine. Opinions please Many thanks |

Well you would have to source the parts on your own because Breitling won't do it because it fundamentally changes the watch (yes, I know that's ridiculous), and you would also have to change them back before sending it for servicing. Your choice but I wouldn't bother - I'd sell the watch and buy a look I wanted if the money allows. |

Roff's right about the servicing aspect but if you can source the parts, I'd go for it. Would look great! |

Not sure where you are, but have you considered something like this? http://goldplating1.co.uk/index.php |

Thanks for the replies. I need to find some one breaking a broken B1 ![]() Do the three gold caps screw out as the other parts look like they just screw out. |

The gold plating on pushers and crowns from Chronomats of that era is prone to wearing off, allowing the underlying steel to show through. Check out the older models on Chrono24.com and you will see what I mean. IMO, they look pretty tacky at that point. Even if you're able to find unworn pushers and crown, there is a good chance they will eventually wear through if you use them enough. I understand your desire to have everything match, but I think you've already got the better option in practical terms; I also think your watch looks great as it is. Personally, I wouldn't change a thing. |

Your bezel, as is, is solid gold any additions will be plated ![]() Next option is as Roff says sell and change. IMO you got a super looking watch in the older Chronomat and I am now sorry I every old mine! ![]() |
