If the effective date really is the start of this year, I think that's bulls**t. As an early adopter of the 01 movement in 2009, I'm yet again screwed. I'm going to call BUSA on Monday and see what they say. I've sent my Chronomat 01 back to them 4 times to fix the same issue. After they finally put a new movement in the watch, a new problem appeared. I still have a few months left on the 1-year service warranty extension, so I may send it in again. Also, I found Breitling's press release pretty humorous. Two of my favorite lines are: "Best in terms of performance, reliability and functionality." and ". . . such as Caliber 04 with its highly ingenious second timezone system," The 01 movement is nowhere near the most reliable chronograph on the market and a GMT function is not "ingenious." Nice work Breitling marketing team. |

Unreal . . . Any idea why they wouldn't offer a warranty to those who purchased a B01 equipped watch prior to that? |

Why did it take Breitling weeks to finally come out with a formal announcement and why did they not make a clear statement about the effective date? The way the announcement reads, "by offering an exceptional five-year warranty on all models equipped with these calibers." they are creating false expectations followed by disappointments and unhappy customers. |

And the cynic in me would also say that it gives them and the ADs more ammunition to support the latest "no discounts" campaign as the 5 year warranty allegedly offers higher value than buying a used piece from before 2012.

Well I do have to agree that they should've mentioned that all models with B01-05 movement purchased 2012. But I guess that would've had more negative effect on their campaign then having to deal with customers when they finally realize that they're not covered. Bad practice anyway.
