Hi all im a newbie to this site, i have trawled through pages and pages on the internet trying to put a value on my fathers Breitling watch as i think he has been umming and r'ing about selling even though ive told him to keep it moneys a little tight for him now hes retired.

The watch is number 4 of 25 ever made, his is still brand new never worn still in box with all certificates where as the other 24 have probably been worn and maybe scrathed etc. i cant find this on any pages anywhere on the internet, not even ebay.

It was made in 2011 and is an Aerospace Titanium Chronograph Nimrod 51 squadron

Can you please HELP or suggest somewhere that can

Hmm, that's not the one I was expecting. There is another Nimrod Aerospace LE with the Kinloss crest as well. I assume that this is another Andrew Michaels commissioned piece, they seem to dominate the UK military LEs. Ultimately these logo dial versions don't tend to vary much in price from a regular model - sure there are only a few of them, but it's a more limited market as fewer people will be interested than in the regular model.

Base value on a regular Aerospace and that will give you a good idea and there are quite a few on eBay (check the actualt sales rather than just asking prices) and Chrono24 (those tend to be dealer asking prices).

Hello RogB.
I saw your fathers watch and I was wondering if it was still for sale?
I was on the squadron for a long period of time and I am after purchasing this type of watch. I may even know your father if he was on the sqn?
If it is still available could you please contact me.
Thanks
Robbo

Hi Robbo and welcome.

Your request might be a long shot as RogB12 was last active on this forum at 3.33pm on Sun 29 April 2012 so it would appear he does not check in from time to time. Consequently he is unlikely to read your post.

As Roff states this watch is very likely to have been commissioned through Andrew Michaels Jewellers (see their link at the top of the page). If you contact them and speak with Richard who is their forum liaison he may have a record of who bought it. The watch is a Limited Edition and may make it easier to find who bought 04/25.

It might be quicker and a more direct line of enquiry to make contact with your colleagues who were on 51 squadron who may know of RogB's father. I suspect the B is the first letter of his surname

This LINK might be of interest though in relation to Roff mentioning the Kinloss Nimrod LE Aerospace.

On a personal note, it is a great shame the Nimrod is no longer with us. She and the work you and your colleagues comitted to, were a fine assett to our protection and SAR capability. She was also a great sight and created a superb sound at the Leuchars Battle of Britain Airshow. (Sadly something else that will soon be a thing of the past)
